The Exception: A play by Olga Humphrey

The Exception: A play by Olga Humphrey
The Exception blends fact and fiction as it bring to life one of the 17th centurys most famous women painters. In 1611 young artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, accuses her tutor, Agostino Tassi, of rape. This play explores the relationships and the trial (the trial transcripts actually still exist from 1612). The production will not be explicit, but the subject matter is PG13.
Some of Artemisias most well-known works are Judith Slaying Holofernes (as pictured), Susanna and the Elders, and Judith and Her Maidservant.
